Overview
Blaze Type is a typing test I built to work on my own typing speed, and as an excuse to build a small, polished interface end to end. It pulls its word lists and quotes from Monkeytype's public data, and every setting reshapes the test instantly.
What I built
- Three modes: timed tests from 15 to 120 seconds, word-count tests from 10 to 100 words, and quotes of different lengths.
- Toggles for punctuation and numbers, which change the generated text on the fly.
- Live words per minute, accuracy and elapsed time while you type, with the text scrolling as you go.
- Six colour themes, each in light and dark mode.
